Medha Basu (She/Her) brings over a decade of hands-on experience in the space of ESG and sustainability impact communication.
Medha serves as the CEO and Cofounder of Slate of Swan effective 3 April 2024. She steers the organisation’s vision, product portfolio, operations and strategy across ESG communication and reporting. She also remains selectively involved as the Project Director in overseas or key client engagements on ESG analytics and communication projects.

Medha brings over 10 years of hands-on experience in ESG reporting, sustainability communication, and impact storytelling. Her work focuses on building credible, compliant and decision-oriented ESG disclosures that strengthen stakeholder confidence.
She has led and executed 200+ ESG, sustainability, CSR, climate and impact reports across MNCs, listed companies, trusts, foundations, Implementing Bodies (IPs) and NGOs.
Before co-founding Slate of Swan, she was Lead of Data, Communication and Engagement at one of India’s leading sustainability consulting firms. There she worked across India and the Middle East projects on research, analytics, communication and stakeholder engagement. For her role there, she has been travelling on-site across the impact areas and deep diving into different sustainability themes.

Medha’s entrepreneurial roots run deeper. Her family’s business, Aefab Annapurna Engineering, has been manufacturing and fabricating stainless steel and mild steel products like tanks and vessels, process equipment, heat exchangers, material handling equipment, and bridge structures, over 60 years, across three generations.
As the third in that line, Medha now steers its digital transformation and first-mile process flow at Aefab.
She carries one belief equally across both worlds: quality is not a differentiator, it is the baseline. Whether the output is a fabricated vessel or a sustainability report, that standard does not move.
Medha’s cross-disciplinary background is central to how she works. She holds an academic foundation in finance, mass communication and data science.

Medha’s engagement with sustainability extends far beyond the boardroom. She is a naturalist, a photographer and a long-time volunteer – someone for whom the planet is not just a subject to report on, but a world to experience deeply.

She speaks at institutions including IIT BHU and volunteers across educational environmental and skill development initiatives with organisations such as CRY and other NGOs. She has been a U-Reporter (UNICEF’s community for young people) since her early 20s.
